What decides the life of a panel is not the stone: it is the bond. It is tested by ageing it on purpose, and then measured again.

Stone where there was no stone.

Weight is what decided how far natural stone could go. With 23 kg/m² instead of 82, that boundary moves — and where the fixing has to have margin to spare, what weighs least demands least.
