Altair

Altair is a cloud grey. The background is pale, crossed by darker bands that never quite become veins: they blur at the edges, like smoke caught in the stone, and now and then a white thread runs diagonally and orders the whole. It has no pattern that forces slabs to be matched, which is why it is one of the best for large surfaces. In a bathroom lit from above the grey lifts and the stone looks paler than it is.
