Blue Calcite

Blue Calcite is one of those stones that is not forgotten. Over a greyish white background, run through with the finest striation, come veins of a mineral blue unlike any other blue in the collection: not the cold blue of a grey, but that of an actual mineral. Around them sit earthy areas and the occasional brown shadow that ground it and keep it from looking dyed. It is a stone to be seen up close, and whoever takes a slab takes a piece that will not be repeated.
