Cristallo

Cristallo is ice. A cold white, somewhat transparent, with the coarse bright grain of quartzite, crossed by fine amber fissures that are the only warm thing on the slab. Depending on where the light comes from, the surface looks wet. It answers throughout the house: flooring, full-height cladding, kitchen, bathroom and outdoor work. Where it truly shows is on an island worktop lit from above, because then the grain catches and the stone stops looking like a material and starts looking like a piece.
