Kenya Black

Kenya Black is combed into waves. Over a deep black run horizontal grey and white bands that bend slowly, like the grain of an old timber or a cut through ground, and the figure has direction and rhythm: two slabs in sequence continue one another if they are laid with thought. It goes in flooring, full-height cladding, bathrooms and outdoor spaces. On a long wall is where it is understood, because the wave needs distance to be read; on a short piece it is a striped black and little more.
