Madera Petrificada

Madera Petrificada is not a drawing that recalls something: it is that something. The slab is made of cross-cut trunks, dozens of circles with their rings still visible, wedged against one another among greys, browns and creams. Every round had its tree and its age, and that is seen without anyone explaining it. It is one of the few exceptional pieces that serve throughout the house: flooring, cladding, kitchen, bathroom and outdoor work. It works best where it can be seen close up — a worktop, a front, a table — because from a distance precisely what it holds inside is lost.
