Patagonia

Patagonia is made of large pieces. Pale plates with straight edges, like slabs wedged against one another, separated by runs of rust descending the slab and by zones where dark, bright crystals show through. It is not a stone with a figure: it is a stone with geology, and it shows. It answers throughout the house: flooring, full-height cladding, kitchen, bathroom and outdoor work — all five. Every slab differs from the last, so the quantity is decided by seeing them together and not on a drawing, and it is worth setting one aside.
