Volakas

Volakas is one of those whites recognised without needing to be named: a light background and a grey vein of fine, irregular stroke that crosses the slab like a line drawn by hand and breaks off before reaching the edge. It has the rare virtue of reading well both close up and from a distance — in a whole bathroom and in a large floor — because the figure never closes into a pattern. It is an interior stone: flooring, full-height cladding and bathrooms. Opened as a mirror it orders an entire wall.
